I maybe bricked my phone... can't get into bootloader

I already used so-called 1-click way to root my phone before. A month ago, I think my sd card went nuts, so I had to use my old sd card where I had old system backed up. I successfully restored to cupcake 1.5 and in meantime TMobile pushed 1.6 (and patched that famous bluetooth hole or whatever)...

Now I wanted to root my phone again. Now, I had to downgrade to rc29 and basically repeat what I did first time. I followed directions from here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
Downloaded DREAIMG.nbh, placed it to my freshly formatted sd card. Everything went like charm. Phone booted up, I logged in. Everything seemed ok.

Then I started looking where to download Flash Recovery apk, only to notice after few minutes that my phone is off. Didn't want to start.
The worse thing, I can't even get into bootloader. Camera + End button seems do not work at all. Sometime pressing Home + End gives me screen with triangle and exclamation mark (!)... (once in 20 tries) most of the time I try to turn on, screen is just blank, dark with nothing on it (no G1 logo), but it is on. I will appreciate any help.

I read somewhere that if you can't access recovery or bootloader, it is brick. But, I can access recovery sometime... if I just keep trying. What should I have on my sd card in order to remedy this situation if possible. What recovery is trying to find on my sd card? As I said, I have full nandroid backup, if I could only run it. :-)

Almost forgot, my device is G1

Thanks.
