There is probably paint on the rotors and pads. If it doesn't go away after a long drive or a few days of stop and go driving, then just a basic brake job will do. Replace pads and resurface rotors. Not a big deal.

brake? Hello, I decided to paint my rims on my Camaro with the wheels still on. I washed the rims with water, and then sanded them down. I then used paint thinner to remove the dust.

I then sprayed on Duplicolor wheel coating, the silver kind. I sprayed it all over the outside. It looks pretty good.

But now for some reason when I come to a complete stop and brake, there is a scraping like/grinding noise coming form the car. I think it has to do with the paint getting on some braking components. What can I do, please help? If I bring it to a mechanic he'll just want to replace all brakes and rotors.

what is it calipers, brakes, discs, rotors? Will it go away by itself?

Look through your rims at the big wheel that is supposed to be made of shiny metal. Right behind the wheel. That is the disc brake rotor and you just painted them a nice color. First time you hit the brakes, you got paint on the pads.
Good luck getting away with just needing pads and rotors.
