I,m trying to set my idle on my 93 Toyota truck. Runs to fast.?

My idle is much to fast. Jerks when I put it in gear as well. I push the idle arm back to slow it down and it does for a while,but speeds up again. I put wd 40 on it,which I was told to do. What else can I do to slow it down to normal speed?

1 tune it
2 scan it..check engine lite means something...sensors give info to computer...computer sets idle

if it,s fuel injection then you can,t adjust it. the computer adjust the idle. if it has a carburator then there should be a screw right by the throttle linkage. run the screw out some but make sure the choke is off first. it could also be the idle air control sensor too.

If the arm is connected to the cable which goes to your accelerator pedal, perhaps the cable is worn and needs replacement.
