i love running outdoors but scared of dogs that may be looses on streets?????

help!! as anyone felt like this? i love running but im more scared of a dog coming and attaking me over a person! so what do you guys think of tredmills??? and has anyone had a dog approch them on the street? when im running im constently looking out for them.... and to my luck every now and then iv had encounters with them on the street that hasnt led to me being hurt thankfully, i love animals so much but i cant get this fear out of my head
