Hello, everyone...I have been so busy lately that I forgot to mention my new shower chair. My husband got it for me, along with a new shower head that you can use while sitting. It has really been a lifesaver because I was beginning to be scared to shower alone because I would often fall. Also, I can not take baths because of recurrent urinary tract infections. Do any of you use shower chairs? If so, do you have any luck with yours'? I hope everyone is enjoying a "pain-free" evening (night)!

I used one after my surgery and thank god I still have it because i've needed to use it many times again when I get severe sciatic pain; and i've even used it when my ankles been extremely painful. There's no way im' taking a chance of slipping in the tub. There were times I had the chair in the tub along with a walker, then a 2nd walker right outside the tub. So for anyone that gets these things (shower chair, walkers, canes, toilet riser, grabbers, etc..) after surgery, do not ever get rid of them!

My daughter just loved her shower chair after her fusion surgery. We bought her the one with the back on it, not just the bench. That is the only special thing we got for her. The hospital didn't think she needed anything else, but this chair was wonderful to have. I wish we would have put in the hand held shower head, like you have, when we redid our tub, but didn't think about her having surgery at that time.

She had her surgery in June and this made it so much easier for me to help her out while showering without worrying about her falling. It also helped when I would shave her legs for her. I could have her sit in the shower and it made it easier on me. She used it for quite a while because she missed going in a pool or lake, so she'd sit on her chair for a long time in the shower. We have now passed it on to her grandparents. cas

The people who owned my house before me put a built in "seat" of sorts in the shower. I never knew I'd need it, and always thought I'd slip off it, but I'm so glad it's there just in case. It was very handy after my surgery and now I just put my legs on it to shave 'em. Bay, you're so right -- I donated a bunch of stuff post-surgery to my physical therapist that I never thought I'd need again. I'm definitely buying another grabber...can't have too many of those!
