I look pretty in the mirror but ugly in photos?

I don't get it.. usually its the other way around for people.
But I think I look very pretty when I look at myself in the mirror, but when I take a picture of myself, I look way way way different (for the worse!) I don't want people to see me the way I look in photos, its just horrible. How does that work..?
 
It just might be the quality or the lighting of a camera.

Also, a lot of pretty people just aren't as photogenic and maybe you haven't found the right way to position or angle yourself in a photo :D

Just practice i guess is all i can say :)

First of all, camera quality is not the same as real-life quality. Also, are you taking these photos head on? Most people do not look good in head-on photos, and choose to angle or tilt their head to either side.
