I live in the UK, and my car has been stolen and burnt out! Its peugeot 106.?

I live in the UK, and my car has been stolen and burnt out! Its peugeot 106, i do not want to do claim because i paid 3rd party policy only. My question is that the car is still at the recovery and the police did not finish their investigations yet! i heard that it better to forget the car and not contact them to see the car because the recovery office will ask me to pay the daily parking for it and for someone to take it to my house after and all it will be around 200 pounds!!!! If i decided to not contact them the police will scrap the car by themselves!, i need some advice regarding this matter please , thanks alot
