I leave for boot camp monday on an open contract, will i get a sucky job..I want

DO NOT SHIP! You will not have any choice of what job you want. Infantry is likely, but why take that chance? Go back to your recruiter and tell him you want an MOS or you aren't shipping. They will tell you that you have to go, but you don't! Don't leave this up to chance! You will be assigned something you may hate. If so, you will be miserable and eventually begin to resent the military. That is not a good situation for anyone! Get an MOS and get it now! You do not have to ship to BASIC! Until you re-swear in Monday morning, you have no obligations to go anywhere.

You have no say in what job you get. Its all based on the needs of the Marine Corps. Why would you sign an open contract? Don't ship for boot camp, go to your local army recruiter, and sign a contract that guarantees your MOS
