"And while the son was still a long way off his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him."
-Luke 15:20

"'Let us celebrate for this child of mine was dead and he has come back to life; he was lost, but now he is found.' and they began to celebrate."
-Luke 15:24

These verses are from the Prodigal Son parable. I know these two by heart, but I don't know what version Bible they are in and I'm curious to know. So, if you have any clue please help. Thanks.

Oh, and I'm not sure if it will help in any way but these verses are at the end of "She Walked Away" by BarlowGirl. That's actually the only reason I know them. Hehe.

Anyway, I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,
Misty.

probably NIV. i am guessing that one b/c most things written in the lyrics of cds are most likely something the world knows. the world knows more of the NIV. that's one of the biggest versions. aside from the King James of course.

This is NWT
(Luke 15:20) So he rose and went to his father. While he was yet a long way off, his father caught sight of him and was moved with pity, and he ran and fell upon his neck and tenderly kissed him.
(Luke 15:24) because this my son was dead and came to life again; he was lost and was found.’ And they started to enjoy themselves.

I am stumped. I looked those verses up in the NIV, NASB, NKJV, HCSB, ESV, and NLT. not one of those is worded quite the same. It is probably a paraphrase.
