I keep trying to open Windows media player but its not opening?

so when i go to open windows media player it goes to the hour glass and then back to the mouse and I've literally have sat here for about 2 minutes just double clicking the damn thing and nothings happening. I've also tried trying inserting CD's, and DVD's and selecting "play using windows media player" and I've ran two scans with Kaspersky and nothing seems to be wrong

Help would be appreciated thanks
 
Possibly the windows media player main file wmplayer.exe has been corrupted by some unknown virus which are not detectable Kaspersky.Uninstall the media player completely leaving no trails that is left after uninstall.Then obtain a new copy of windows media player 11.Ensure that you have genuine copy of windows and update the antivirus software regularly.Hope it works!
