Actually, the Iraq War was a nation building folly by Comrade Bush. All nation building is a fool's game. If Iraqis want freedom, they are equipped to get it themselves. Legitimate governments exist only with the consent of the governed.

Other nation building follies that the U.S. needs to stay out of /should have stayed out of: The Balkans, Darfur, Somalia, Haiti, have I left any out? Lots of leftists like to think they can tell good nation building from bad nation building, I'm trying to head off that nonsense.
 
If Iraq was solely for oil, Bush would have been kowtowing to Saddam for oil contracts like Putin and Chirac were doing at that time in 2003. Just the opposite, they were mad at Bush for not seeing Iraq just for oil, that is why Chirac and Putin never supported Bush in Iraq.
 
No the Iraq war was not over 911, or oil. It was because of inspections and may people Democrats, and Republicans thought that has weapons of mass destruction. America had been beat around for so long, and it had enough. Those are facts.
