I just happened to watch a little known aussie movie yesterday and I enjoyed it so much I thought I would recommend it on here. It stars Toni Collette and is called "Black Balloon".

I had never heard of it but perhaps I may have missed out on something. I t's a fairly recent movie and is thorughly entertaining and the 90 minutes just flew by.

The film looks at the relationship of a family that has to deal with an autistic son/brother. It is really quite laugh out loud funny in parts and quite touching and heart felt in other parts.

Take my word for it and go rent this movie - you wont be disappointed. Would be interested to hear the opinions of other people that has seen it.

Ah, I've seen this one.. I agree- great movie. As you say, the highs and lows in the brothers' relationship will have you laughing one minute, and tearing up the next.. The whole cast was fantastic but I thought the guy who played Charlie in particular turned in an amazing performance.

I totally agree. At one point I started to wonder whether it was actually an autistic lad playing the part. He really gave an incredible performnace. Makes me wonder how valid the Oscar nominations really are when people like this get overlooked.

Let me know your thoughts on here once you've seen it. I've recommended this movie to a few frienRAB and my brother, too.
