Cell phones have become a part of the status symbol culture. Like designer label clothes and watches, foreign sports cars and being seen at the newest "In" restaurant or club. Bottom line is you make a call, wear clothes, drive to work or school and eat. How much you spend to do that depends on your priorities.

AGREED! I for one elect to spend the bulk of my cash on school in the hopes that one day I might have more cash. I'll figure out what to do with the increased cash flow if/when that happens.

We dont have the problem here with dropped calls as far as I know but line rental is a killer, my brother for instance is paying either

Personally I'd be happy with a cellphone that can make decent calls and has the games tetris and snake on it. That's all I'd want in a cellphone. iPods or MP3 players can be for music, the only reason you should need internet on the go is for business. And in that situation, get a Blackberry or a Trio, they work perfectly fine for that kind of business-y thing. Oh, and a little sidenote. Why does everyone have Razr's? It's not like it's anything special, it's just thin. Maybe for girls it's great, but for guys? Come on, man up and get a bulky phone that says I AM A MAN!"
