...remarry in the state of Fl? I have been trying to divorce my ex for two years now, its taken longer than I expected. This divorce was filed in California. He finally agreed ed to all the settlements and gave me a divorce. But while I was waiting for all this to happen I meet the man I was intended to marry. We now live in the state of Florida, and I was wondering if there was a waiting period for us to get married. I do not plan on getting married in a Catholic Church. I know there is a waiting period if I wanted to get married there.
 
If the divorce is final...what's to stop you from marrying in Florida. I know of people here in California that got married the day after they received their divorce papers from the judge.
