well if you read it, that would have answered your question, the ECONOMY! people are not working so they are not making money and cant go out and eat.

I don't like doughnuts.

However,with todays economy in such turmoil,it is possible for any place to have to file bankruptcy or go out of business.

In reality,people are going to places such as Starbucks and places like that more than they are going to Krispy Creme.Starbucks is overpriced anyhow! lol :]

Krispy kreme lasted less than a year in Rochester MN. With every gas station and grocery store in town selling donuts, I don't know what they were thinking.
No brains is the biggest reason places go out of business. Now if noone sold a damn donut here, then they would have made a killing but.....
