freezes...? Hi, about a week ago I installed the latest version of Yahoo Messenger as well as a new Logitech webcam for the first time. Before installing and using YM, I played around with the webcam for at least an hour with no problems. The purpose of me doing this was so that I could video chat with my husband who has been deployed since March. Now, every single time we have used video chat, my entire computer will freeze up, including the cursor. CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work, and I end up having to hold down my computer's start button to shut the computer off and then have to restart the whole thing again. It will freeze my computer every single time, it is extremely frustrating!!!!! Yesterday I was on and it froze my computer 3 times. It will freeze anywhere from a few minutes to 30 minutes after video chat has begun. Is this a known problem with YM? What can I do to fix it?
P.S. A few days ago I had to restore my entire computer back to factory settings because I was getting an error message which was preventing me from reaching windows. The only 2 programs I have installed currently is YM and the software for the webcam. I've been having the computer freezing problem both before (when I had alot of programs) AND after restoring the computer. Also, because my husband is using a Satellite provider, he cannot use skype, which is why we chose YM. Thanks so much for your help!!!
