i just got the verizon blackberry curve 8530 5 days ago, please help?

i charge it overnight for several hours and sometimes ill let it charge for 10/15 minutes while im at the computer. but the battery doesnt last even close to a day. i used to have the razr from t-mobile and that would stay charged for about 3 days. and suggestions? i would appreciate it
