I was pissed but i signed the credit card receipt. When i got home i called customer service and they said that basically since jiffy lube is independant, they can pretty much charge whatever....The phone operator even said that she has seen oil changes as much as $100.00...How is that possible when darn near any other place in the world charges around 20-30 bucks?? Is jiffy Lube that much of a rip off?? I will never be back...By the way...as i mentioned, i dont drive anything fancy...i drive a 2007 ford focus with 22,000 miles on it and they did not do anything out of the ordinary in terms of service.....Thanks for the help....

Actually, I work at an auto shop. Most new cars use synthetic oil which can hit about $7.00 a quart. $7 x 5 = $35 in oil. say another $8 for a filter. You're already at $43 and they can charge up to $20 in labor that's already $63. plus tax waste fees..... etc. it's stupid but they can do it! Hey... someone has to pay for the "Jiffy Lube" name. Next time find a small auto shop, or invest a good $ 30 bucks in equipment, learn how to do an oil change, and save yourself over $20.00 on future oil changes. takes no more than 20-30 minutes. but i highly doubt u got ripped off

maybe as they were doing it they had to change something in it without asking u like the oil pan or something else, or they just ripped u off n charged too much
