I bought a phone that was originally a verizon but had been used as a cricket phone. Samsung A650. I called Cricket and did the ESN change, then I dialed *228 to program the phone, but it won't program. The Cricket people say I need to manually program the phone but they don't know what to push in order to do that. Can any of y'all tell me how to manually program this phone?

welcome to the forums....

if you do some reading you need to flash the phone. This means changing the perfered roaming list nuraber off the phone (PRL) cricket use 01039....you need a usb cable and phone editing program to do it. You have to watch out though, you can ruin your phone though.
 
funny to say that a guy cam in with a broken starcom and we flashed this exact model for him to use......

verizon sells the usb cable with software to get it to connect to the computer.....

then you will need to find a copy of qpst and then use that to upload the software....
