I hit a parked car and left but owner got my license plate and left a note?

Look, I realize I'm a horrible person - I completely admit to that. Moving on - I hit a car while backing into a spot. It left a medium size dent and a small scrape on their car. There's no way I can afford an increase in insurance or pay the damage so I moved my car to a different spot and went into the building. When I came out, the owner had somehow figured out it was me and left a note with his email asking for his insurance (and I assume he got my license plate #). He never saw me. What happens if I just ignore it? (and yes, I know what I'm doing is really wrong. If I could afford it, I'd pay.)
