haha I was almost crying watching the highlights on BBC...even though I'm young compared to you lot (guessing), I still remember the Argentina pen shootout, ronaldhinios freek free-kick in 2002 (when nobody rated him) and all the Euros in between. my favourite memory was beckhams free kick against Greece at old trafford though.
in case you guys are wondering, the BBC just showed a load of highlights from every world cup since 1966, explaining just how england went out each time.
Oh fuck, I remember Ronaldinho's free kick. I fucking hated Seaman, but I'm sure that's nothing compared to how Englanders felt about him...playing that far forward, what a douchebag
you've got some pretty good goalies & adu looks like he's fun to watch, ..., but you've left him at home, or so i'm told, ..., which is a shame coz theres always the 'roy of the rovers' factor
Given the group we're in this year, definitely. Czech Republic is not going to be easy, Italy is by far the biggest match of the group, and I think Ghana is going to surprise quite a few people, but the Quarterfinals would make me happy, but the finals or a win, and I'd be ecstatic
Getting past your group would be unexpected - getting to the Quarters, when you're facing Brazil (most probably) in the last-16 would be nothing short of a miracle.
edit; Fredbull I doubt Italy could stop Bra this year tbh. their defence is getting old and slow, especially compared to adriano and robhinio, and their strategy of 'poach one and defend' won't work vs the all time top-scorer of the WC...
