...I've paid AT&T $150 plus...? I got a separate bill from the store where I bought the phone and they too have their own disconnection fees of $200. I got totally ripped-off. The guy at the store didn't tell me about this. I paid $40 for the phone, it wasn't even free. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do?
 
The court case in question ruled that the cell phone carriers could not impose a flat termination fee regardless of how far along the contract was. The carriers responded by reducing early termination fees by $5 for each completed month of the contract.

The early termination fees are disclosed in the contract. They're legal even if you didn't read what you signed.
