I hear alot about capacitors since i thought i should get one but not sure now.?

I have 2 12" mtx jackhammer subs and a 1200 watt mtx jackhammer amp and was told it would be a good idea to get one. I also have a dvd radio that i actually don't want now since i don't use the dvd part. The only problem i have is my headlights do dim when it hits hard.
