I haven't ridden a bike in many years, what kind of bike should I look for?

I have not ridden a bike in many years, and am not even sure if I remember how. I am new to regular exercise, and am really just looking for something to get around town faster. What is a somewhat inexpensive bicycle that will fit my needs? I am a 28 year old female. Thank you!
