I haven't had my period since May 09, I've tested and i'm not pregnant. What can i do

now to improve ttc? Hello everyone,
Well i've been off the pill since april 09, got my period (after stopping the pill) in april, then in may. but it hasn't come on again since? I was on the pill 7 years. We are trying. But i've tested just this morning and got another negative test. So i'm obviously not pregnant.

What do you think i should do?
I was thinking i might have to buy an ovulation testing kit, to find out if i am ovulating or not. what do you think?

Any other advice that is helpful, much appreciated.

I heard that the longer you are on the pill the longer it takes to get out of your system so it's harder to get pregnant right after getting off...although not impossible. But if you missed your period I'd think that would mean you're pregnant. I had the period getting off the pill and then none after that because it turned out I WAS pregnant. But my test was positive. I had a friend take 3 negatives and when she FINALLY got a positive she was 18 1/2 weeks pregnant...meaning all 3 of those negatives were false. Everybody's body is different so it makes it that much harder to find out what's going on. If you are trying to concieve than I'd buy the ovulation kit anyways and keep trying...if you're already pregnant then you will eventually find out.....if not than you can keep trying and eventually eventually be pregnant. Lol....good luck!
 
i would jump for joy, praise god that i haven't had my period.

but you should definetly go to the doctor. pronto. just incase it's something serious.
 
I would call a doctor and ask why he thinks this might be happening. You might also want to consider having your doctor do a professional pregnancy test. I've been watching that show, I Didn't Know I was Pregnant, and people can get negative pregnancy results when they are actually pregnant. It's not all that common, but it happens.

Did you look into the side effects of stopping the birth control. Maybe your cycle is just readjusting since the pill kept it pretty steady for 7 years.
