I have only been doing 75 mg of morphine each day for 7 months, and already feel like it has stolen my life away. I have also been an alcoholic for 6 years and have been to treatment 2 times due to the alcohol... I met my boyfriend in treatment who happened to be an opiot addict, once we were finnished rehab he relapsed and I made the very stupid decition to try morphine and oxycotten for my 1st time, I have been hooked ever since. I really do not want to do this dreadful drug anymore and want to catch it while I still can. So my boyfriend and I have been clean for 6 days now and so I though had gotten past the worst part of the detox... Don't get me wrong I am totaly over the hot and cold sweats and the diarhea and all the good stuff.. but I still can't sleep and I am still sooo weak.. Any Ideas what I can do to relieve this pain once and for all??

The half-life of morphine is 12 hours. I mean it peaks in 12 hours and I think oxy does the same. Anyway, the pain is probably rebound pain. Pain will, for a time, seem intolerable due to the morph and oxy lowering your pain threshold. This could go off and on for several months. It is very good that you are getting off these drugs now. The psychological aspect is another thing. Your mind may trick you into (your addiction)thinking you are in pain or that you need the drug. I assure you after the physical withdrawals (Could be at least 3 weeks) you no longer need these drugs. You need to lower your tolerance of the drug again in case you get hurt or are ill and need to be on the drug. Did you get all that! Sincerely, searchin U can do it!!!!
