I have verizon and I signed up for a 2 year program with a phone that is just barly makin it right now and its only 1 1/2 years into it.. Anyways, i am in search of a new phone. Verizon seems to have the worst selection when it comes to new phones with good features with decent prices.. Anyways, I am looking to spend around $200 and I want a good phone with a good camra and as many features as possible. I would really like to get one that plays MP3s!

Also, i see all of these phones that have been unlocked and they say they will work with and provider using certain signals and stuff like that so i was wondering if verizon is capable of using an unlocked phone?

Don't know if this is much help but I have some info on the LG8100, I have a RAZR V3c myself but still know a bit about the LG.

MP3 player will only play MP3s off of the MiniSD and you have to activate it:

To activate the MP3 Player you need to go inot the service menu. To access
the service menu hit the OK buttom then 0 The code is 000000 then go to 11
(Music Settings) and enable MP3 player. Play the MP3s from the front butons
just enable the short cut keys in the regular menu.

and as for the pictures, they are huge!
I think they are something like 1280 X 960!!!
1.3 mega pixel camera with flash and zoom for pictures and video clips.

Also, if you have Verizon you will be spending a lot less for this phone if you reup with the new every two type thing, like $50 I think!

But thats just my opinion on a phone to go with, where you are willing to spend more you might want to get one of those mini-laptop phones. haha.

In summary I think the LG8100 is the best Verizon phone currently available for the money and the features.

Hope this was remotely helpful, others feel free to correct any information I may have falsified. Don't bash my opinion though!

Look into the LG vx9800 My wife and I just got 1 each ($199 buy1 get 1 free, $50 rebate, thats 2 phones for $150+tax) It has a full qwerty keyboard, Mp3 player, 3gp and mp4 video capability, 1.3Mpixel camera with video and a flash, the newest software (v5) allows for up to a 2G miniSd card for storage and the internet is great looking foir a phone, the inner screen is by far the best looking i have seen.

I was caught at a train crossing yesterday and watched half of an episode af family guy while I was waiting. I am not in a vcast area but it is vcast capable and the regular internet speed is pretty fast for WAP, I have heard that EVDO speeds are blazing fast if your in an EVDO area. Without the Vcast package the web access only costs airtime and its $5 a month for the portal but you can use another portal if you want (hopke.net, etc)

Go to a verizon store and check it out. After years of Motorola modding on cingular, this phone convinced me to switch!!!

Did you get that buy one get one free deal at a verizon store? I want one of these phones and my girlfriend has a vx1000 right now and loves the look. buy one get one would be ideal!
