I HAVE TO WRITE A BOOK...HELP!?

well i am in the 7th grade right now and i have to write a "young authors book" i have until like october and i wanna start writing it right now, so that i can get extra credit in september (; i have no idea what to write and it cannot be less then 6 pages. i sorta wanna make a 15-30 page book and it has to have something that teaches a lesson. i also had some thoughts about writing about the death on one of my friends melissa lech. you can look her up on google. and if i were to write about her, how can i start the story. btw it HAS to have relle rellle relle good vocab. thats just my reading teacher (; and if im not gunna write about melissa, then i enjoy writing about gossip err drama ; if you give me a great idea then i will give you the highest amount of points for best answer ;
 
It's not a book your writing..it's a novella or a short story.
If you really want to write about your friend and her death, that would be a good idea. Write what you know about. You have plenty of time to do so. Start the story with her death, what happened and how it affected you. Since this a rather short story, you will have to condense your facts. But write it as it happened.
