I have to leave med-school for financial reasons, now my boyfriend is avoiding me...?

Hello guys. I am in med-school and leaving soon because of personal financial reasons.
After I told this to my boyfriend, I noticed a slight attitude change in him.
I feel some sort of negative vibe. He's not talking much now, not coming online, acting a bit distance from me...

Yesterday I said "I love you" to him, and he replied "Relax, you must be bored..."

Why the sudden change? Thank you!

You are leaving medical school due to "personal financial reasons"? What does that even mean? That sounds like a poor excuse to me. If you have started med. school, then surely you can find a way to finish, even if it means frying tacos at Jack's Crack.

Who knows why your boyfriend is behaving differently? Maybe he sees you leaving medical school for "personal financial reasons" as a weak excuse too, and views it as the shape of things to come.

If you don't like the way he is behaving, them jettison him, but don't be dumb and quit medical school. If you do quit, then be honest as to why you are doing it. Maybe you do not feel cut out for the very long commitment, maybe you decided you are weak around blood, or maybe you have realized it isn't your passion like you once thought it was. Those are valid reasons. To drop out due to "personal financial reasons" is weak.

I suspect your boyfriend has sensed the thinly-veiled reason is BS as well, and is looking for the door, but is hanging on to get a little more you-know-what first.
