1. have your wife guide you in for the first time, get in the perfect position.

2. hang a tennis ball from the roof, making sure it touches the center of your windshield.

3. in the future, aim for that tennis ball and stop when you hit it.
 
...corners of the car? There is a stairwell at the back of the garage and the car bonnet goes under this. If reversed in the car is is too long. From the driving position i can not see both corners of the front of the car to judge where the garage door sides are. I tried a mirror to see the car coming in but was magnified and couldn't see the front of the car. Any ideas apart from using my Wife to guide me in ? Many thanks for your help
 
Get your wife to guide you in tonight, then put a piece of tape right at your car door, like a blue or bright colored tape. Tomorrow when you pull in, line the tape up at the exact same spot.
