My boss is from India and I already have a hard enough time understanding people who speak perfect english sometimes (it's like I try to listen but can't understand what they are saying) and I can't hardly understand my boss most of the time. So anyways a couple of people quit where I work leaving 3 people and the boss to do the work of 5 people, and last week he asked me if I could work some mornings and some night shifts (I am all night shift) because this guy I worked with who is quitting said he could work nights for the next week. Well that guy just disapeared on us and the boss is hiring someone else. I think that the boss thought that the guy who disapeared was going to work here and his other job he got because he said now he has to hire someone. I thought that I was in the clear for having to work mornings and nights because the guy wasn't working anymore and the new person could just do that but last night when I came in I think he said that he was going to hire someone,
today and we could get them trained during the day and then I could work mornings or something like that. I don't really know cause I couldn't really make out what he was really saying. But it sounded like he was saying that after we get the new person trained then I could do the mornings that he (the boss) wants off.
So I need to ask him about this and see if I am going to have to do mornings and nights and to see if it is permanent and I need to try to keep my night shift only and if not I need a certain schedule to do nights and mornings.
Sorry this is long but I am having bad anxiety over how to ask this to where he could answer me simply so I can understand what he says! So does anyone have any ideas on how I can relax and ask what I need to without screwing it up? I tend to get tounge tied when nervous. Thanks.
And in the mornings he seems kind of grumpy but I feel like I should ask this before he hires someone and gives them a schedule. I don't know if he actually would give them one but just in case.
