...found it on the floor.? So i got cats so it had cat hair on it. But i wanted to get in the tank as fast as i can. So i did. It was not moving at all. But when i put it in the tank it slowly came back to life. So when i knew it was not dead i took it out and wiped the hair off.And the fish did not move during that process did not flippy around. Like it knew to be still to get wiped off. Anyway thats been weeks now and it seems fine back to normal. But now it has big white patches on its side and just on one side. And the other fish are fine. Its been that way for weeks and the other fish don't have the spots. I don't think it is ick because these are patches not spots and the other fish don't have them. The cat hair that was on it was white so i don't know if that has something to do with it or not.

Well you might have a few avenues to investigate. Goldies are jumpers by nature. They are also aggressive when competing for a mate. You might have 2 males and 1 female. The one on the floor might have lost the battle.

It's highly unlikely that your cat extracted the fish from the tank, but not entirely unheard of. I suspect that the Goldfish jumped and landed on the floor with a nice thud which attracted the kittes who investigate. Why they didn;t eat the fish is beyond me but You can bet they took a nibble.

The fish may not have been floppying around out of pure exhaustion depending on how long he was on the floor. But you were right to get him back in the water. Even if he was ok, he was dehydrated and you saved his life. It was also a good move to remove the debris stuck to him as that would have prevented the slime coat from returning and helping the fish heal.

Yes, I am sure he has scars. HE has earned them. Just be thankful your fich isa resiliant fish. And next time, look at him closely and see if he has a sad frown on his face. He may be trying to commit suicide. Just kidding.

If you're in the US, pick up some PimaFix. It's similar to MelaFix but better and does more. As Cat said, it's a natural antibacterial/antifungal agent.

Are the patches looking fuzzy? Or does it just look like the skin is "whitened" in that area?

.

Use an anti-bacterial/anti-fungal medication. The fish have a protective slime coat that covers their bodies, the contact the fish had with the hair, the floor and the wiping will have removed this and left it prone to bacterial infections.

Treat with a good quality medication such as Myxazin
