i have my subs hooked up to a amp. work fine. i have my speakers hooked up to a seperate amp. (kenwood 800watt). and i have pioneer 6x9
says 300watt max? so im guess that i blow them with to much power bass is turned down on amp just level is up. not all the way 3/4s maybe. should i get a weaker amp or lower the level of amp.
whats a good amp to get thats 200-250 watt

Do you have the Kenwood amp wire up to four 6x9's or are they just wired up to two. With two 300 watt speakers, together they could handle 600 watts max. Ofcourse they will blow if you give them 200 more watts. It could of been the bass, but highs can also blow speakers too, the higher the tone the faster the speaker will need to vibrate possibly making them vibrate out of control.

If you don't have all four speakers wired up, wire them all up to the amp and turn down the gain on the amp with the 6x9 on them.

And when he was talking about "bass blockers" buy a pair of cross overs, it will divide up your highs and mids into your tweeters and 6x9s
