I have a regular desktop computer and need to buy a router in order to surf the net, I was wondering if the wireless G router would work with rogers internet?
Is Rogers Internet the Y! broadband service in Canada?
There's no reason a router wouldn't work with an Internet Service Provider. The ISP provides a modem to which you connect devices - either a computer or a router in front of a computer. The router would store any necessary login information for fake PPP that Rogers might require, and serves its Internet connection across its local network - to computers connected to it.
All Wireless routers work with all operating systems and all ISP's because the router doesn't care what OS or ISP you use.
But, Rogers may be able to supply their own router, which is a good idea if you want them to support the router, too. They are not the easiest beasts to configure.
