I have no work history advice please!?

I'm 24 and have spent most my time taking care of my family due to personal reasons. Not to mention I've recently obtained my work permit. Now the family situation has changed and I need to get a job. I did graduate from high school but never made it to college. With no work history will employers even look past that part? Do I stand a chance? What kind of jobs should I be applying for? Or what can I do to higher my chances of being employed. Thanks for your advice. Please no rude comments!
