...I get to the hospital? For example, if I cut my hand relatively badly -- I wouldn't bleed to death, but it would probably need stitches.

I live in a major city with public transit, but I wouldn't wait for one (let alone board one) while bleeding profusely... I think hailing a cab could be problematic, too. Thoughts?
Last I checked (i.e. four seconds ago), 911 and ambulances are expressly for LIFE THREATENING emergencies only. That's not the case in my hypothetical situation. Don't answer if you don't read the question, people.
 
Run out in the street and lay down. Act like you're dying. Traffic will stop and you will be helped by many good samaritans. Someone will take you to the hospital.
 
If you don't have health care then Im afraid for your hand. If you do not have health care insurance then you need to voice your support for the public option in the current health care debate. You might get an ugly infection and die on the side of the street if left to the devises of the left.
