...sorting out a new handset? I thought I was covered under my bank insurance, but I'm not, so I have to wait a little while to be able to afford the new handset.
Will I still be paying £40 a month for the contract while my phone is recognised as 'lost' and not in use?
 
speak to them ask them to cancel the sim and post you out a new one when you are ready or ask if the payment for a refurbished handset can be paid along side your bill that way you will have a month to pay.My boyfriend got a refurbished set same make and a new sim with the same number for £30.If you do it that way they add the time you were without your phone on to the end of the month for you.
 
Yes because you are still in the contract. You could try contacting Orange and see if they are willing to help you in anyway.
