...chased a cat and killed it? i have husky dogs which a couple of days ago got out of our secure garden and chased a cat and killed it on its property now the owners are saying that the cat was £500 where do i stand as the cat owners are saying that they are worried that they may have harmed a child that was in the house now i know my dogs and know that they would never harm a child as i have 3 children and breed is a hunting dog and will catch and kill anything smaller than a large cat they are fine with other dogs as long they don't start on them i have spoken to the police and they have said its not their area to deal with it but if it happened again then they could get a destruction order and advised us to go and see the family with some flowers i really don't know what to expect
 
£500 for a cat? If I paid that much I would never let it out. Get them to prove it cost that much. Does the insurance on your dogs cover them for third party actions? If you don't have insurance on them, you are very silly.
