I have heard the cams go on the 96 Ford Taurus SHO..When do they usually go?

I just bought a 96 with 220,000 Kilometers from what i am reading they would have gone long ago gone,if they were going to? How do i find out if they have been welded?the car runs mint,always cared for etc ,2 owners ,this one does not know if the cams were fixed but i assume they were as they would have gone by now would they not have?
Could there still be a chance of them going at this high of Ks..Most sites seem to say they go around 100,000 ks
Please help me on this one
 
The cams go on the car??? I have never heard of camshafts on car snapping.I would think that this would not be an issue unless you were pushing lots of Power.Just drive the car , if there is nothing wrong there is no reason to fix it.
