I have Cable Internet access, considering Verizon WiFi?

I'm cable connected (3 PCs) to the internet through a wireless router connected to a cable modem. It's been OK for about 5 years - some problems, but way better than dial up. My Verizon Wireless store is trying to get me to switch to a little thing about the size of a small remote control, which he says will pick up a satellite signal and can route to 3 or 4 PCs.

I'm willing to try it, but would like to know speed comparisons and what problems others have encountered (if any). I asked the salesman and he stuttered about speed - he didn't know. All he knew was cost per MB per month and that I could carry this thing in my pocket if I was going somewhere and taking my laptop with me.

If I do this, my Laptops are Wireless B or G enabled, but not my Desktop. He didn't know how to resolve that. (Salesman, not technician). Is there a USB plug in to make a Desktop WiFi, or do I have to open it up and put in a card or something?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
