I have ATT internet service and the internet explorer is running so slow and it freezes

up? I've called ATT, they ran the speed test and it was ok on their end, but my computer still runs slow and it freezes up all the time. ATT told me that I may have virus in my computer,is there anything that I can buy from the stores to correct the problems?
