I have and 8 week maltese puppy got him on monday but since yesterday he hardly eats , but is very playful?

but still sleeps alot , any suggestions . The breeder has advised me to give him vitagen puppy food , and put water over it and feed him twice a day ... any advice
no i have no had vet puppy checked , but he is due to have his 2nd shots next week
