...my condition? I have done a BMR calculator and my results were 1660 calories. I then read somewhere else that If you have an under active thyroid, it'll be 10% lower than average. I calculated this, and my BMR is therefore 1494 calories.
Now, I am a 18 year old female who weighs 184lbs and I'm 5'1" and desperate to lose weight. I've been over weight ever since I was 7 (which was when I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid - Hashimotos Disease to be exact!) I have researched that to lose weight healthily, I should deficit my BMR by 500 calories. If I do that, My BMR will be very low which will mean I won't be losing fat but muscle and retained water. WTF AM I SUPPOSE TO DO?! Does this* (*I won't be losing fat but muscle and retained water) not occur to me because of my thyroid condition? or can I go with a diet that's 950 calories and lose fat?
Please help
I've spent so long in trying to lose weight, I shouldn't have to focus on this at my age!
