trying to format it, but when i do it only shows 1gig spare HD space on the c drive, it wont let me partition it to start with but once i have installed the OS i can go in and partition there and find the rest of my HD but again it wont let me install anything on there. hope this makes sense & has anyone got any ideas

done it off the cd as clean install,deleated the partitions but then only give me 1gig free space on top
the format is NTFS
