...which is posit? Wires split into two at the ends, one side black one side of wire is colored silver
The wires easily snap back into red and black connectors on the back of the stereo but I don't know which side goes in the black connector and which snaps into the red.
 
It doesn't matter as long as the same wire plugs into the black on the stereo and the black on the speaker, same with the reds.
Sometimes speaker wire has little dashes on one wire which makes it easier to keep track of which wire is which. If so, the standard is to connect that one to black on the stereo and black on the speaker, but again, as long as black goes to black and red goes to red, it doesn't matter.
So
Black Stereo------------------------------------- Black Speaker
Red Stereo--------------------------------------- Red Speaker

Make sure your left connections on your stereo go to your left speaker, and your right connections on your stereo go to your right speaker.
