I was just given my grandmas car, a 1977 Ford Granada, it has a 6 cylinder motor. The car has been sitting for a while in her garage. I went to go and start it the other day and when I turned the key it just cranked. I pumped the gas pedal a few times and it still just cranked. I called my girl friend and she told me that old cars need to have the gas pedal pumped alot. So I tried pumping a few times and it still just cranked. Then I tried pumping it really hard and fast while turning the key and nothing. Finally after about 10 minutes of pumping and turning the key it started.
The next morning it was really cold and when I went to start it nothing but it just cranked. I pumped and pumped and it just cranked, and after about 5 minutes I smelled gas. My friend told me that I had flooded it. Being a girl I know nothing about cars, can someone help me?
