I have an '88 Mazda 626 that stalls after starting.?

It usually takes 2-3 minutes after starting cold for it to die. At that point it will run, but only by keeping the accelerator pressed so that the rpm are kept around 2000. I tried cleaning the throttle body (w/o taking it off) and cleaned out the EGR valve body (it was packed with carbon). I just can't seem to find the main culprit. Any ideas?
