i have a vodafone dongle but it wont connect?

it worked for a while if i put it in it all connects it goes to the right vodafone network and it connects to my wireless fine but the wireless keep's saying no connection and when i click on internet it takes me to the vodafone network it's not out of credit because i put credit on it and it is not my laptop because i put it in my dad's and it did the same i thought i had to sign up on the vodafone website but that didn't work so i think it is the dongle if anyone can help i would be great full
