I have a Female Cat, I rescued her from Batter-sea dogs home she was 3 years old. Now I have had her for 10 years!! for the first 2 years I was with her she wouldn't let me stroke her! she would just hiss, spit and jump up and clawed me! over the next years or so I would just talk to her sit next to her and stroke her once before she would claw and hiss at me. When she goes to the vets for her booster injections the vet has to wear big protection gloves! a vet once told me that she is totally aggressive and should be put down! but i just stuck with it. One time my Husband was getting her out of her cage when she was at the vets and she clawed his arm to bits where it had to be treated and bandaged for weeks. Of an night time she is totally different she will sleep either on my tummy or my husbands tummy. I have 2 kids which she has grown up with and his fine with them but she will hiss when she wants to be left alone. She has gotten better over the years but I can't stroke her for long periods of time.
Apparently when I rescued her she was treated badly but didn't have any details on the matter apparently I was the six person to have rescued her from batter sea but all the others brought her back because they couldn't cope with the way she is.
Please don't tell me to give her up! If i buy an animal its for keeps I wont just give up and Chuck it in a shelter! I have had her 11 years next month. so she's an old cat! 15 years old nearly.
why is she like this yet all I have given her is love? is there a condition for cats like this.
