Just have to ask. If you didn't even know where to find the various components on your bike how in the world did you come up with the diagnosis of "The starter don't seem to be engaging all the way to turn the engine over". What caused you to purchase an entire starter? Now because you didn't follow a manual and made a guessing game of fixing your bike your going to try and make the parts supplier eat the cost of that that starter? I think its on you to pay for the cost of your mechanical education and careless troubleshooting procedure. Not the parts guy. Just my 2¢

Where is the starter clutch located? Is it inside of the crankcase? Please let me know before I send the starter back b/c I thought the starter it self was going bad. Thanks
Mr. MOLITOR -----First of all when I took the old starter out it was gummed up with crude. I took it to an atv mechanic and he tested the old starter and stated that it needed to be replaced. I placed the new starter in the atv and it worked fine for three to four days with no issues. Then it just started to whine when you tried to start the atv. I took the left side cover off and replaced the starter, as I pressed the button to start the atv you could see that the starter is kicking in and catchs the starter clutch teeth. But it will not turn it over, and the starter just makes a grinding noise. I think the inner teeth of the starter are stripped. Also, if I need your 2 cents I will make sure to ask for it and it does not take a freaking brain surgeon to take a starter out and put one back in if you have any mechnical know how. Thank you for your advice MOLITOR but no thanks.
Mr. MOLITOR, after more looking into the starter situation, it is the starter clutch, and yes I put the starter in the right way(only one way it will fit). So yes I am going to send it back to parts supplier. It has a one year warrenty so why can't I use it. Thank You for all your advice.
